2025- Welcome Nexus Body Arts

Nexus- “A connection or series of connections linking two or more things”

For many of us who get pierced, tattooed, or otherwise modify our bodies we experience an intimate relationship with the process of doing so. From a child with their first earlobe piercing to a middle-aged client who has always dreamed of that nostril piercing, they have inherent strength when they look in the mirror after it’s done. We stand taller, smile brighter, and there is a shine in our eyes that comes from saying “This body is my temple, and I shall adorn and decorate how I please!”

Nexus, for me, is the connection between body, mind, spirit, and self. It is the place between the ritual of body modification and the aesthetic of adornment. Nexus was born out of a desire to create a space that allows people of all walks of life, all abilities, all races, all sexualities, all gender identities, and all ages to find a place in their journeys to celebrate and explore themselves through body modification. The idea behind Nexus was to be the connection point between such a diverse group of clients, staff, experiences, mentalities, and lives- all through the power of body modification. I want to encourage you to embrace your authentic self through the journey of body piercing. I have found self-love, empowerment, healing, catharsis, community, love, mourning, grief, passion, and a little bit of pain, all at the end of a needle. This space is a celebration of all of that. A place where I can focus on the magic that happens between myself and a client.

Nexus Body Art will be a private, appointment-only studio located in downtown Seattle. This space will allow clients to have set, one-on-one time with me, where they will be able to discuss not only jewelry, anatomy, and sterilization, but also incorporate empowerment, reclamation, transformation, and ritual into the process. This is a place for folks who want a new piercing for a cute adornment in a clean and safe space, for those seeking gender or identity-affirming experiences, for those looking to commemorate a coming of age, life change, or new transition, a safe space for the kink and leather community to explore body modification, and a hub for everyone who enjoys that little dose of euphoria at the kiss of the needle.

Nexus Body Art comes alive as a queer, disabled, trans-owned and operated space, built on 13 years of experience in the piercing industry. In that time I have worked at and managed several incredibly successful studios, and grown an online platform for my work. With a message of self-love, body confidence, and authenticity, that all centers on body piercing and body modification. Nexus is the next step in the evolution of my career. This background will allow Nexus to truly be born of the connections between the vibrant and unique spaces I have worked at, visited, and loved.

The hardest part of all of this is leaving behind Laughing Buddha, which has been a home for the last two years. I adore every person there and will miss seeing their smiling faces every day. I am forever grateful to my time there, and am humbled and honored to still refer my clients to Colin, LJ, and the entire LB staff for downsizes and checkups when I am out of town.

Welcome 2025, and this incredible new adventure in my life.

Seattle- I will see you all in March!

And a special thank you to everyone who helped make this leap possible. <3
